My name is Tyler Tatum, and I Love Art!
I have a very full life. Really, I have no time to express my creative abilities given my many other responsibilities. Yet, I find that the drive within my to create is so deep that I insert blocks of time where there are none. I have a full professional career, a family, a passion for athletics, and a network of friends I regularly keep up with. None of these suppress my drive to create. Sure, these may limit the time I have to commit to new projects, but the drive still exist.
Being an engineer at heart, it has taken my years to appreciate my drive to create art. Art can exist in engineering, but often the need for functionality overrides the need for the flare or excitement in something that truly makes it art. Now, I find the desire to create art that has no form or function other than its beauty to be stronger than ever. I still add artistic beauty to the things I do that are more functional, but I find a deep understanding now of what it means to use art as a form of expression.
Being a woodworker, I often create candlesticks, bowls, furniture or other pieces for friends and family. I have found this to be very moving and fulfilling, but I get excited about doing more with my art. I have thought about selling it at times, but then I would be creating what others want, not what I want to express. I believe the transaction of art and its monetization is better left to the professionals. My desire is simply to express my thoughts and feelings in a more public medium. This desire is the basis for the creation of The Executive Artist™.
